Colon polyps are abnormal growths that originate from the inner lining of the intestinal tract. While most polyps are benign, those that are left untreated or continue to grow can lead to more serious health issues, including colorectal cancer. Rectal bleeding, changes in bowel habits, blood in stool, cramping abdominal pain, and iron deficiency anemia are among the possible symptoms of colon polyps.
