Not every patient who undergoes a tracheostomy will require subsequent tracheal surgery or intervention. The development of tracheal stenosis is a potential complication, influenced by factors such as the duration of tracheostomy placement and the cuff pressure of the tracheostomy tube. While not all tracheostomies necessitate further tracheal surgery, intervention may become necessary if the resulting stenosis significantly impairs the patient's quality of life or leads to respiratory obstruction.
