Wisdom tooth pain can arise due to various reasons. One of the most common causes is the lack of sufficient space in the mouth for these teeth to erupt properly. This situation can lead to wisdom teeth becoming impacted, partially erupted, growing crookedly, or damaging adjacent teeth by exerting pressure. Pain is frequently observed in such cases. Other significant factors include cavities in wisdom teeth, gum infections (pericoronitis), and cysts and abscesses developing around the tooth. Especially around partially erupted wisdom teeth, infections can easily develop due to food accumulation and bacterial growth. All these conditions are common causes that can lead to wisdom tooth pain.
