Atherosclerotic plaques typically do not cause symptoms in their early stages. Individuals with a family history of atherosclerosis or coronary artery disease should undergo regular cardiac check-ups and screenings starting from a certain age. If suspicious symptoms or findings are detected during routine cardiac evaluations, screening methods such as Electrocardiography (ECG), Echocardiography (ECHO - cardiac ultrasound), and Stress Test are applied. For patients deemed suspicious based on these tests, a definitive diagnosis can be established through Invasive Coronary Angiography or Cardiac CT Angiography (also known as virtual angiography).
