Liver Cancer Treatment
The feasibility of surgical removal in the treatment of liver cancer depends on the stage of the tumor, whether it has spread, and if the patient has liver disease, the degree of it. If the cancer has metastasized outside the liver, surgical treatment is not considered.
The ideal treatment option is, of course, liver transplantation. With liver transplantation, the diseased liver is completely removed and replaced with a healthy liver. The risk of tumor recurrence is lower in patients who undergo transplantation.
