What are the causes of flat feet?
Genetic factors can also lead to congenital anomalies causing flat feet. It's more likely to occur in those with a family history of flat feet.
Conditions such as:
* Vertical talus
* Tarsal coalition
* Cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, or spina bifida
Acquired
* Past foot trauma
* Advanced age
* Rheumatoid arthritis
* Damage, dysfunction, or rupture of the posterior tibial tendon (posterior tibial tendon insufficiency)
* Obesity and diabetes
