Wisdom teeth (third molars) typically erupt as four teeth, located at the furthest back positions of both the upper and lower jaws, on both the right and left sides. In some cases, this number can be higher. While their presence in the mouth is sometimes asymptomatic, they can also manifest with pain. If a wisdom tooth emerges painfully or in a misaligned position, its extraction is generally considered appropriate for oral health. However, not all wisdom teeth require extraction; some can be present in the mouth without causing any problems or symptoms.
