Various surgical methods can be employed in osteosarcoma surgery. For patients undergoing prosthetic surgery, mobilization with the help of crutches is generally initiated shortly after the operation. Patients typically begin supported walking within 5-6 weeks post-surgery. However, the exact timing for the patient to stand up and walk can vary from person to person, depending on the adaptation and bone integration (fixation) process of the prosthesis. Achieving independent ambulation without crutches usually takes 2-3 months. In reconstruction methods where the patient's own bone is used instead of a prosthesis, the time to stand up may be longer.
