The dietary regimen after knee replacement surgery is a topic frequently inquired about by our patients. While there isn't a specific diet program for this period, paying attention to certain key points can support the recovery process. Specifically, despite a common belief that offal or excessive protein-rich diets contribute to bone healing, current scientific data does not support this claim. On the contrary, such dietary patterns can often lead to weight gain due to their high caloric content. Studies not only show that offal or protein-rich diets do not have an accelerating effect on healing but also reveal that they can even cause potential harm in the long term due to excessive weight gain. Therefore, patients after knee replacement surgery are primarily advised to maintain a healthy weight and avoid carbohydrate-heavy nutrition. A balanced and moderate diet will positively affect overall health and recovery.
