After the operation, patients are generally advised a two-day rest period. However, the first three to six months following the surgery are of great importance. During this period, patients must avoid activities that can cause positive pressure in the ear, such as heavy lifting, straining, diving, or air travel. In patients where otosclerosis is highly likely to occur in both ears, surgical intervention is not performed on both ears simultaneously; it is generally recommended to wait at least 6 months. After surgery, patients' hearing usually improves rapidly, and correspondingly, the tinnitus complaints they experience decrease, or may even completely disappear. Patients can return to their normal lives, free from the difficulties brought about by the hearing aids they previously had to use.
