Before a hysterosalpingography (HSG), also known as a uterine film, the patient undergoes a detailed medical evaluation. During this process, the patient's general health, current or past medical issues, and medications used are reviewed. A history of any allergies to contrast media is meticulously inquired about. Additionally, necessary tests (usually a pregnancy test) are performed to ensure the timing of the procedure is appropriate and that the patient is not pregnant.
