While fetal echocardiography is typically prioritized for expectant mothers identified as high-risk, studies have shown that approximately 90% of congenital heart anomalies detected during routine fetal echocardiography screenings occur in infants of mothers with no pre-existing risk factors. This highlights that the absence of maternal risk does not preclude the presence of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in the fetus. Consequently, it is crucial for all expectant mothers to consider undergoing fetal echocardiography screening.
