Parathormone (PTH), also known as parathyroid hormone, is a hormone secreted by the four parathyroid glands located in the neck. It plays a crucial role in regulating and maintaining the levels of two key minerals, calcium and phosphorus, in the bloodstream. PTH also helps control vitamin D levels in the blood and is responsible for facilitating the release of calcium from bones into the bloodstream.
