Heart failure is a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. This typically develops as a result of the weakening of the heart muscle due to underlying health issues such as coronary artery disease, diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. Affecting approximately 2% of the population, heart failure can progress without symptoms, delaying diagnosis and potentially leading to serious, even fatal, outcomes. In individuals with heart failure, the heart continues to function; however, because it cannot effectively pump blood, blood begins to accumulate in various parts of the body. This accumulation is most commonly observed in the lungs, legs, and feet. Due to the insidious progression of the disease, it is vital to recognize emerging symptoms early and seek medical attention. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment play a critical role in managing the disease and improving quality of life.
