Osteoid osteoma is recognized as a benign (non-cancerous) tumor that typically manifests during childhood. It is predominantly observed in the region between the hip and the knee. Although osteoid osteomas can cause pain, they are characterized by their non-metastatic nature, meaning they do not spread to other parts of the body. Nevertheless, their presence can induce the formation of an abnormal type of bone material, referred to as osteoid bone, within the affected site.
