The symptoms of Parkinson's disease can generally be grouped into motor and non-motor symptoms. Motor symptoms include slowness of movement (bradykinesia), resting tremor, muscle rigidity, impaired reflexes for posture and balance, small and sometimes unsteady steps, a stooped posture, and difficulty performing fluid and coordinated movements. Non-motor symptoms may encompass joint pain, depression, sleep disorders, and cognitive dysfunctions such as forgetfulness.
