In the treatment of heel spur (plantar fasciitis), conservative approaches are generally prioritized. These methods include rest, avoiding activities that worsen pain, ice application, stretching exercises for the calves and plantar fascia, and heel massage. Custom orthotics, insoles, and night splints are also used as supportive measures. Anti-inflammatory medications and cortisone injections may be administered to manage pain and inflammation. Physical therapy sessions and pain-relieving creams can also provide symptomatic relief. Silicone-supported heel slippers or appropriate footwear can also enhance comfort. If symptoms persist despite all these conservative treatments, surgical intervention may be considered as an option.
