Thymoma tumors are asymptomatic in most cases. However, approximately 30% to 35% of patients may experience symptoms such as cough, chest pain, and hoarseness. The most frequently associated paraneoplastic syndrome with thymoma is myasthenia gravis, which accompanies 30% to 50% of thymoma tumors. Paraneoplastic syndromes are systemic effects not directly caused by the tumor itself, but by hormones or other substances secreted by the tumor.
