During PUVA treatment, certain medications can increase the skin's sensitivity to light, leading to easy redness. Therefore, it is vitally important to inform your doctor completely about all continuous or intermittent medications you are using before starting treatment, and to notify your physician of any changes in your medications during the course of treatment. Furthermore, if your dermatologist deems it appropriate, PUVA therapy can be combined with wide or narrow-band UVB or with specific medications. In necessary cases, both UVA and wide or narrow-band UVB therapies can be administered together.
