The following conditions must be met for the evaluation and performance of a capsule endoscopy procedure:

* Necessity: The presence of strong clinical and radiological findings suggesting small bowel pathology in cases where diagnosis cannot be made with standard endoscopy and colonoscopy methods, or when these procedures cannot be performed on the patient.
* Absence of Contraindications: No prior history of a diagnosed stricture, obstruction, large diverticulum, or significant surgical intervention in the patient's digestive system.
* Patient Compliance: The patient's ability to safely swallow the capsule and comply with the procedure protocol.
* Special Considerations and Safety:
* Presence of Pacemaker: Capsule endoscopy can be performed in patients with pacemakers; however, given that certain types of pacemakers may be affected by capsule technology, a detailed evaluation and approval from a Cardiology specialist are mandatory before the procedure.
* Chronic Diseases: The presence of chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiac conditions other than pacemakers, or renal dysfunction does not preclude the application of capsule endoscopy.
* Anesthesia Requirement: As the procedure does not require general anesthesia, it is a diagnostic method that can be safely applied to a wide patient population.
