During chemotherapy, various side effects such as redness, itching, peeling, dryness, and acne may appear on the skin. Changes in the color of the skin and nails may be observed. Nails may become more fragile and develop lines on their surface. Darkening may be seen in the veins where chemotherapy is administered; this condition is usually temporary and resolves 1-2 months after the treatment is completed.

The following precautions can be taken against these skin and nail problems:
* Avoid excessive sun exposure during chemotherapy due to the risk of hyperpigmentation (darkening) of the skin.
* If acne develops, make sure to keep your skin clean and dry.
* To prevent skin dryness, prefer short, lukewarm showers instead of long, hot baths.
* After bathing, moisturize your skin using creams or lotions.
* To protect your nails, use gloves when necessary, especially when doing housework or outdoors.
