Untreated anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears can lead to irreversible damage within the knee joint. The abnormal stress placed on the meniscus and articular cartilage can predispose the joint to early-onset osteoarthritis. Furthermore, other knee ligaments may also sustain damage over time, potentially compromising overall knee stability.
