There are specific criteria for becoming a liver donor:
1. The potential donor must make the decision to donate their liver freely and without any coercion.
2. Donors must be at least 18 years old and not older than 60.
3. The blood types of the donor and recipient must be compatible.
4. The donor must be related to the recipient up to the fourth degree of kinship. For relationships beyond the fourth degree, ethical committee approval from the Provincial Health Directorate is mandatory.
5. The donor must not have a history of systemic diseases.
6. The donor must have healthy liver and kidney functions.
