Patients with pacemakers may trigger security alarms when passing through X-ray machines in high-security areas such as airports, courthouses, and shopping malls. To avoid such situations and facilitate security procedures, it is strongly advised that patients always carry their pacemaker reports with them. Most common electronic devices, such as microwave ovens, home security systems, computers, electric blankets, hair dryers, remote controls, and televisions, generally have no adverse effect on pacemakers. However, caution is important for certain specialized device types or strong magnetic fields, and warnings regarding wireless communication devices like mobile phones should be taken into consideration.
