Before an EEG examination, it is important to pay attention to the following points to obtain accurate and reliable results:
1. Hair and Scalp Preparation: To ensure proper placement of the electrodes, your scalp must be clean and dry. Avoid using hair products such as gel, conditioner, spray, or similar on the day of the test. Grease and dirt residues can negatively affect signal transmission.
2. Food, Drink, and Substance Consumption: Avoid substances such as alcohol, sleeping pills, or sedatives. Specifically, do not consume caffeinated beverages (coffee, tea, energy drinks) for at least 6 hours before the test, as these can alter brain activity and affect test results.
3. Sharing Medical Information: For our neurophysiologist to plan the examination optimally and make an accurate assessment, please bring any previous EEG test results, other radiological examinations (such as MRI, CT), and all relevant medical reports, if available.
4. Health Status and Medication Use: If you have specific health conditions such as blood-borne diseases (Hepatitis, AIDS) or suspicion of COVID-19, please inform our medical team before the examination. Additionally, be sure to mention all medications you use regularly or have taken before the procedure.
