Prolotherapy is an injection treatment used in a wide range of clinical conditions such as tendon, muscle, and ligament disorders; arthritis in the knee, hip, and finger joints; degenerative disc disease; fibromyalgia; certain types of headaches; meniscus lesions; epicondylitis (tennis elbow); adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder); shoulder impingement syndrome; scoliosis; Morton's neuroma; carpal tunnel syndrome; sports injuries; sprains and strains; and joint instability. While it is stated that prolotherapy injections alleviate pain symptoms, it is emphasized that this analgesic efficacy has not been fully proven by scientific studies.
