Ablation is a medical procedure involving the targeted destruction of tumor tissue using specialized needles. Common techniques include thermal methods such as radiofrequency, laser, and microwave, as well as cryoablation, which uses extreme cold. These methods have been widely and successfully applied for many years in various organs, particularly the liver and lungs. Nanoknife ablation, however, distinguishes itself by utilizing direct electric current instead of heat or cold to eliminate tumors. This non-thermal approach allows for the safe treatment of tumors located near delicate structures, effectively preserving surrounding vital tissues.
