Osteoid osteoma is a benign bone tumor that neither metastasizes nor transforms into cancer. It is generally known to be self-limiting, often spontaneously regressing or resolving by the end of the growth period. If the associated pain does not significantly impair the patient's quality of life or comfort, active intervention may not be required. However, if left untreated despite persistent pain, complications such as muscle contractures can develop, potentially leading to a functional leg length discrepancy. These contractures may become fixed over time. Additionally, there is a risk of patients pursuing or undergoing inappropriate treatments due to prolonged symptoms.
