Pain management in spinal and spinal cord tumors is of critical importance in both pre-operative and post-operative periods. Pain control is generally attempted with potent analgesics. However, some patients may experience severe pain resistant to standard pain medication treatments. In such cases, advanced surgical interventions, such as surgically targeting and cutting the nerves causing the pain (neurotomy or ablation), may be applied. These types of procedures aim to significantly improve patients' quality of life by allowing them to return to their daily lives without feeling pain.
