Following cardiac pacemaker implantation, an overnight hospital stay is typically sufficient. It is common to experience mild pain and discomfort within the first 48 hours post-procedure; these symptoms can be effectively managed with pain relievers. Temporary bruising may be observed at the implantation site, particularly in patients using blood thinners. After the pacemaker is placed, regular follow-up checks will be conducted at intervals determined by your doctor. For the first 4 to 6 weeks post-procedure, direct pressure on the operated area, reaching to high places, or lifting heavy objects should be avoided. The timing of your return to work will be determined by your physician, based on your individual recovery process.
