Consuming even a single poisonous mushroom can lead to severe liver failure, acute hepatic coma, and, if untreated, fatal outcomes. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and progressively worsening loss of consciousness may appear within the first few days after consumption. Failure to intervene during this early stage can put the patient's life at risk. For patients who do not respond to medical treatment, liver transplantation can be a life-saving solution. During the transplant procedure, the liver, which has been affected by toxins and has completely lost its function, is removed and replaced with a healthy liver. Rarely, if toxic substances persist in the blood, liver failure may develop in the transplanted liver as well. In less severe poisoning cases that do not require liver transplantation, supportive and preventive treatments can be administered, and dialysis may be employed if necessary to cleanse the liver of toxins. During the treatment process, a patient's consciousness level may sometimes deteriorate, and blood values may occasionally not be normalized despite medical treatment.
