Shoe selection is crucial for heel spurs. Shoes with soft inner soles, such as soft-soled sneakers, should be chosen. In work environments where sneakers are unsuitable, the inside of the shoes should be supported with silicone heel cups.

Hard, flat, and high-heeled shoes should be avoided.

Weight gain should be avoided.

Walking barefoot at home should be avoided; soft-soled slippers should always be preferred.

If there is a foot posture problem and foot pain, a custom orthotic should be made to correct it.
