Spermiogram (sperm test) evaluation is carried out in two stages. In the first stage, basic analyses are generally completed within 1 hour. In the second stage, sperm staining is performed for morphological examination. In samples prepared using special staining techniques, at least 100 sperm cells are examined in detail under a microscope; structural features and morphological abnormalities are assessed to determine the percentage of sperm with normal morphology. After this comprehensive evaluation process is completed, the semen analysis report is usually ready within one business day.
