The duration of endodontic (root canal) treatment varies depending on several factors, such as the number of root canals, the tooth's location, and the severity of the infection. If there is no infection or cyst formation in the pulp region, the treatment can be completed in a single session. However, since teeth often present with an infected condition, the treatment typically extends to two sessions. Each root canal treatment session can last approximately up to 45 minutes. In the first session, the root canal is meticulously cleaned and shaped. In the second session, provided there is no inflammation within the canal, no sensitivity in the patient's tooth, a clear X-ray image, and no abnormalities observed in the surrounding tissues, the treatment is finalized by filling the tooth.
