For patients diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension (PH), the treatment plan is individualized based on the patient's age, general health status, and underlying causes. After the diagnosis is confirmed using advanced imaging techniques such as angiography, appropriate treatment methods are initiated. Various drug options are available for PH treatment, and these medications are prescribed and documented by a physician. It is crucial for patients to attend regular physician check-ups (e.g., every three months). If a single medication proves insufficient, a second or third medication may be considered for addition to the treatment regimen, depending on the patient's clinical condition. If PH is caused by another underlying condition, such as a heart or lung disease, treatments will primarily focus on addressing that condition. If blood clots obstructing the pulmonary arteries are causing PH, anticoagulant medications may be recommended to prevent further clot formation. Additionally, in some cases, a surgical operation known as 'pulmonary endarterectomy' may also be recommended.
