Ear calcification is divided into two main categories based on its developmental stages: early and late. The early stage is a period where calcification has not yet begun or is just in its initial phase, and can also be defined as the 'soft stage'. In this stage, the use of sodium fluoride-containing tablets aims to prevent the progression and worsening of calcification. If calcification progresses to the late stage, surgical intervention may be considered as a treatment option.
