Patients experiencing an endometrioma rupture typically feel a sharp, stabbing pain that starts suddenly in the groin area. This pain can spread throughout the entire abdomen within a short period. A ruptured endometrioma (chocolate cyst) can be diagnosed with ultrasonography. In some cases, the pain may be accompanied by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and general weakness.
