Complete Blood Count (CBC) results can offer important clues regarding various health conditions. For example, low hemoglobin (HGB) levels may suggest conditions such as anemia, blood loss, leukemia, lymphoma, or hemolysis; while high HGB values can be associated with smoking or dehydration. An elevated white blood cell (WBC) count helps in identifying infections or types of leukemia. A high platelet (PLT) count may indicate certain types of cancer, iron deficiency anemia, or post-splenectomy status. Conversely, low platelet (PLT) levels can be a sign of conditions like idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, disseminated intravascular coagulation (depletion due to excessive consumption of platelets), or spleen-related diseases.
