Adenitis is a condition that can be observed in all age groups. While adenitis occurring in childhood is typically related to infections and often follows a benign course, lymphadenopathies observed in adults should prompt consideration of more serious underlying pathologies, especially malignancies. In early childhood, particularly in the 3-5 age group, small-sized lymph nodes are frequently found in the neck, armpit, and groin areas. These are mostly associated with benign conditions such as upper respiratory tract infections, common colds, and diarrhea. However, as age advances, the risk of malignancy in enlarged lymph nodes increases. Therefore, the size of the lymph node is important. Although it varies depending on the location, the etiology of lymph nodes reaching 2-3 cm or larger must be thoroughly investigated.
