In lip cancer surgeries, reconstruction is performed using aesthetic surgical techniques after the tumor is removed. Operations are meticulously planned to minimize visible scarring. Depending on the skin type, a minimal scar may form. Due to the tissue removed from the lip, a slight reduction in the size of the mouth may occur; however, this reduction does not adversely affect the patient's eating or speaking functions. While temporary and minor pronunciation difficulties may be experienced in the early postoperative period, these issues generally resolve once full recovery is achieved.
