Spinal column and spinal cord tumors can lead to paralysis in patients. Especially tumors that are left untreated or whose diagnosis and treatment are delayed, can cause paralysis by progressing over time or developing suddenly. The affected area of paralysis can vary, presenting as from the neck down or from the waist down, depending on the tumor's location on the spine or spinal cord.
