The primary approach to treating hypospadias (a congenital anomaly of the urinary opening, also known as 'peygamber sünneti' or 'prophet's circumcision') is surgical. It is recommended that surgical correction be performed during childhood, once the penis has reached sufficient development but before adulthood. During this operation, while the urinary opening is repositioned to the tip of the penis, existing penile curvatures are also corrected simultaneously. For Peyronie's disease, the most common cause of penile curvature in later life, treatment varies depending on whether the condition is in its acute or chronic phase.
