Pinworm infection is typically treated with anti-parasitic medications such as mebendazole, albendazole, and pyrantel pamoate. To alleviate associated itching, topical creams may be recommended. Furthermore, essential components of the treatment regimen include maintaining strict hygiene by thoroughly washing clothes, bedding, and towels at high temperatures (at least 130°F or approximately 55°C) and hot drying them before reuse. Ensuring adequate hydration by drinking plenty of fluids is also crucial for recovery.
