The diagnosis of premature ejaculation (PE) is primarily established through a comprehensive consultation (anamnesis) between the patient and the doctor. This consultation is critically important for thoroughly understanding the patient's medical history, symptoms, and sexual life history. To support the diagnostic process, additional laboratory or imaging tests may be requested to investigate potential underlying medical causes such as hormonal imbalances or infections.

The diagnostic evaluation includes subjective data reported by the patient, such as ejaculation latency time, and standardized questionnaire forms validated in Turkish. Furthermore, the differentiation of premature ejaculation from other sexual dysfunctions, such as erectile dysfunction, is clarified through a detailed patient history.
