A mass detected in the liver is generally referred to as a tumor. These masses can be benign or malignant tumors originating from the liver tissue itself. Furthermore, malignant tumors that have spread to the liver from another organ (metastatic) can also be observed. Rarely, benign formations appearing in the liver due to other diseases can also be detected.
