The exact causes of spinal cord tumors are not fully understood. However, while their physiopathology is not entirely clear, genetic factors are thought to play a role. The majority of spinal tumors, on the other hand, are metastatic tumors that spread from a primary cancer elsewhere in the body. The most common primary cancers from which these metastases originate are lung and breast cancer.
