The development of osteoporosis at a young age is generally dependent on the presence of specific risk factors. These risk factors may include chronic diseases, long-term use of medications that can lead to osteoporosis, or genetic predisposition. Rarely, cases of idiopathic osteoporosis, which starts in young adulthood without a clear cause, are also observed. Additionally, forms of pregnancy or lactation-related osteoporosis that can emerge during pregnancy and breastfeeding periods and often resolve spontaneously are also noted.
