Patients can generally return to their daily activities 3 to 4 months after shoulder replacement surgery. However, strenuous or high-impact activities are strongly discouraged. It is crucial to avoid excessive loading and intense sports with all prosthetic implants. While controlled swimming may be permissible, any activity that places significant stress on the shoulder joint, such as overhead sports (e.g., racket sports), basketball, volleyball, tennis, and weightlifting, should be avoided.
