Adenitis is a condition characterized by the inflammatory swelling of lymph nodes. Also known as lymphadenitis or adenolymphitis, it causes the affected lymph nodes to swell, become warm, and tender to the touch. It is most commonly observed in the lymph nodes of the neck, armpits, and groin regions, and can typically be triggered by a bacterial or viral infection, or rarely, an allergic reaction.
