High triglycerides refer to a condition where the triglyceride level in the blood exceeds 150 mg/dL. Elevated triglyceride levels increase the risk of serious health problems such as fatty liver, enlarged spleen, hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), stroke, heart attack, and inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). This condition often appears alongside other lipid disorders, such as high cholesterol or low HDL cholesterol, and can be an indicator of metabolic syndrome.
